remains the only fire department in Pennington County which does
not impose a tax levy and is supported solely by donations of its
residents and supporters within the community.
The department’s mission is to protect the community of Silver
City and the surrounding area from wild land and structure fires.
The department is formed by volunteer citizens. It protects 150
homes and an area of  42 square miles.
